Lovely farmhouse in Baio

Description

House located in Baio, a small village belonging to the municipality of Zas, in the province of A Coruña, 7 km from the Atlantic coast, where the town of Laxe is located, famous for its beach and fishing port. The house is well connected by road, as it is 45 minutes from the airport of A Coruña and one hour from Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Galicia.

The property consists of several buildings and land. The main building is a two-storey stone house, with a constructed area of about 200 m2. Its facade is covered with cement and painted white, which gives it a more modern look away from the traditional stone houses. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living-dining room and a hall. The kitchen is equipped with a wood stove, which in addition to being used for cooking provides heat to the whole house, and a lareira, which is a typical Galician fireplace. On the other hand, the living-dining room is spacious and bright and from the hall we access a wooden staircase leading to the upper floor, where the bedrooms are located. One of them is large and has a balcony overlooking the outside, the other two are smaller and communicate with each other through a dining room, which is currently not used and is empty.

In addition to the main house, the property has two open alpendres, which are sheds where farm implements and other belongings are kept. These sheds are built with concrete blocks and have an uralite roof. Next to the sheds there are some stables, which are also made of blocks and uralite, and have a capacity for about 10 animals. At the other end of the property there is an old house in a ruinous state, dating from the 19th century, which preserves some architectural elements of interest, such as a window with a semicircular arch or a door with a stone lintel. This old house could be restored and converted into an additional dwelling or rural lodging. Finally, the property has two beautiful stone hórreos (hórreos are symbols of Galician culture and tradition, and are protected by law as assets of cultural interest).

The property has an area of about 15,000 m2, of which about 8,000 m2 are very flat and green meadows, ideal for grazing animals or for growing vegetables and fruit trees. 

At about 2 km from the property there is a very nice river recreational area, with tables, benches, barbecues, etc...

In short, we are facing a rural house with several outbuildings and land, located in a beautiful village in the province of A Coruña, near the coast and two airports. The house has a rustic charm and a good distribution, although it needs some small renovation.
